Nature Photography

All around Narrow pond and the Allagash region, boreal flora and fauna abound. Moose and loons are easy finds and eagles, bears and beavers are everyday sights. Critters like marten, otters, and lynx can be photographed but require patience and luck. The northern orchids, Moccasin Flower, are commonly captured on camera, while others require some real looking. All four seasons offer rich northern Maine character.

From an entry in WikiPedia- The Allagash River

"In the 1850s Henry David Thoreau made two journeys by canoe along the river, guided by Penobscots . He later wrote about the experience in his published account of the Maine Woods."
